Taylor Hicks American Dud?

Taylor HicksI had a feeling that the season that Taylor Hicks won the American Idol contest that it had to be one of the worst seasons ever as far as winners go. I mean really! Taylor Hicks was chosen over Chris Daughtry, seriously. And Chis is still running wild on the charts.

As is turns out the sales prove the bad decision. “The Return” only had 236,000 copies sold. That’s not a million.

The soul singer, who claimed the “Idol” title in 2006, has apparently been dropped by J Records, a label within Sony-BMG, which signs the show’s singers. “Taylor is going to record on his own for the next album,” said J Records publicist Liz Morentin, who did not give further details regarding Hicks.
Full story here.

OH, well, shit happens I guess. I stopped watching when Chris was voted out. Thats when I knew that it was a terrible season and peoples tastes were terrible also. To bad the people buying the records don’t actually vote instead of all the tweens voting for their most popular. Then we might actually see some real talent.

Don’t get me going on the whole Sanjaya thing either.
