Tata/Nano - Mini Car
Tata Motors Ltd , India’s top vehicle maker, unveiled its low-cost small car named the ‘Nano’ which is set to hit the market this year.
Now I know it’s not sporty really, but when you stop to consider the cost of fuel these days, and the rising costs in insurance these things may be more popular on the roads than you might think. I know folks around my parts are big on saving money, and living in a city you don’t really need a fast sports car.
The car, a hatchback with a 624cc engine, is priced at about half that of the current cheapest car in the market, and is a sharp contrast to the luxury Jaguar and Land Rover brands that Tata is negotiating to buy from Ford Motor Co.

The cheapest car is right! At just around $2,500 a pop you can have one of t hes little buggers in your driveway. What’s the catch? Non really, just no air conditioning or radio, that’s all.
It’s expected to get around 20Km/liter, not sure how fast it will go, but how fast does one need to go in a congested city anyway? I can only see the price of the car anyway. It’s affordable for people to get their first cars now.
If they ever get here, chances are that I will probably get one, simply because it’s affordable. I don’t really need/want to spend thousands of dollars on something that will take me from point A to B. The only thing I really need transportation for here in the city is to get to work and back, and to the stores to buy groceries. I don’t plan on driving across the province or country any time soon.
I really hope they have these things here soon and don’t jack the price up just to gouge consumers for the novelty image. They need to keep the cost low as it was made for.
Just wondering how long it will be before there’s a lawsuit from Apple for them using the name Nano though.
This is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

This seems to be a great idea for us in Canada as well. When could we see this car here?
Soon I hope.
