Shaved Head For Cancer - Got Fired
The lady in the photo to the left (36-year-old waitress Stacey Fearnall from Owen Sound, in Ontario Canada) raised more than $2,700 for the charity Cops for Cancer, a local fundraiser for cancer research.
Everyone should be proud of her right?
Well apparently her Boss at Nathaniels restaurant wasn’t proud of her at all. Instead of embracing the opportunity to support her and promote her cause gaining restaurant publicity, they decided to fire her.
Up until a week ago, Fearnall had long red locks, but she said she made the decision to have her head shaved because she has a friend battling cancer and she lost her father to the disease.
“I felt like this was a pretty easy thing for me to do to raise money to help people,” she told CBC News on Thursday.
She said she told her bosses what she was planning to do, but when she arrived at work at the restaurant practically bald, she said they sent her home and told her she wasn’t welcome back.
What assholes huh?
She isn’t sure if she wants to sue, since this can go under a gender issue because men work in restaurants with bald heads. If she doesn’t want to sue for herself, then she should sue and donate the money she is rewarded from the courts to her cancer cause.
People are boycotting the restaurant, as I think they should. At least until the Chef (Dan Hilliard) make a public appology and shaved his head and matches what Stacey has raised in her cancer cause. If he doesn’t then I can see the restaurant going down to the ground in a burning pile of ash. Unfortunately, it will mean the loss of jobs to those working there, but in my opinion, they could do better, Stacey found a job pretty quickly, so I suppose they should be able to too.
Of course this is all just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

I always forget to come check your review site but I saw the headline in your sidebar and had to check it ou. The way this person was treated is definitely grounds for suit in my opinion. She seems like a classy person though. I often thought I would do the same if one of my loved ones was going through that treatment. Then I ended up having to do it for myself anyway. LOL. But I do like your idea of making the restaurant owner or manager (whoever was responsible for her dismissal) shave their heads and match her donation at least. That would be fair.
I never did hear any more on this topic. I wonder what happened? Did she sue, or did the restaurant fail?
Yeah right. The only injustice is that she is now a
celebrity. Stacey. Take some responsibility for what you do.
Take responsibility? For what. Being a hero raising money for cancer to dying people with cancer? Sounds responsible enough to me.
The owner needs to take responsibility for their actions in my opinion, to which you are entitled to.
