Canadian army kills 2 Afghan children
OK, you are constantly telling the local civilians to stay the hell away from any military convoys. You also educate them that if they don’t comply with these rules, there will be a pretty damn good chance you WILL be fired upon because you will be considered a threat.
So why the hell did the parents of these two kids choose to ignore the rules and warnings?
Canadian troops have killed a two-and four-year-old brother and sister by opening fire on a car that they feared was about to attack their convoy.
A Canadian-issued statement said the round was discharged when the car had arrived within 10 metres of the convoy.
“Our soldiers are trained to take all appropriate steps to minimize civilian casualties. However, they must take action to protect themselves when they believe they are being threatened.”

I agree that this is a tragic thing that happened, but what really gets me is that the parents and others that were on the scene at the hospital were cursing the Canadian and American soldiers that are there trying to make peace there. As far as I’m concerned, these soldiers were doing what they were supposed to do. They’re under so much stress, and are constantly threatened by suicide bombers and looking behind their backs, it’s no wonder they don’t want you coming any where near their convoys.
In cases where coalition forces have fired a split-second too late, soldiers have been killed in suicide explosions.
Coalition forces run frequent advertising campaigns that warn Afghan locals to keep a safe distance from convoys.
In fact, most locals are terrified of getting close to military vehicles.
I think it’s safe to say that I don’t think any of the soldiers really want to be over there in the first place, but they know they have a job to do and they know what they have been hired on to do. And as far as I’m concerned, they’re doing a hell of a job, both Canadian and American military forces.
So if you see a convoy coming your way. Get the hell out of the way.
This is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

I so agree lol! Poor stupid kids though! Stupid parents. Both my parents are in the American Military. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
I wouldn’t say the kids were stupid, as they were only 2 and 4. The parents are to blame IMOWYAET.
A great pity the Americans didn’t learn from the British and the Romans about how to run a colony. Sending raw soldiers over to keep order where psychos can take pot-shots at them is foolish.
You need different tactics and specially-trained troops.
